During a meeting on 21 February 2024, the Czech government approved the signing of a new income tax treaty with Malta. Negotiations for the treaty were concluded in August 2023. The new treaty must be signed and ratified before entering into force and, once in force and effective, will replace the 1996 tax treaty between the two countries.
