Officials from Nepal and the United Arab Emirates reportedly met on 27 February 2020 to discuss bilateral relations, including the need for the negotiation and signing of an income tax treaty. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two countries and will need to be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
