According to recent reports, Senegal notified Mauritius in June 2019 of its decision to terminate the 2002 income tax treaty between the two countries, which was confirmed by Mauritius in July 2019. As per the terms of the treaty, the termination is effective from 1 January 2020 for Senegal and from 1 July 2020 for Mauritius. Negotiations for a new tax treaty between the two countries are ongoing.
