Taiwan COVID-19 Tax Relief Includes Return Extensions and Possible Tax Reductions

Taiwan's Ministry of Finance has published an updated overview of tax relief being provided in the response to COVID-19. Further to the measures already reported, one of the key measures is an extension of the annual tax return deadline for individuals and companies from 31 May 2020 to 30 June 2020. If a taxpayer submits their return in May, however, any refunds due will be provided by 30 June. Tax reductions may also be provided, including for business tax/VAT and entertainment tax.
