On 4 February 2015, officials from the Cook Islands and the Czech Republic signed a tax information exchange agreement. The agreement is the first of its kind between the two jurisdictions, and will enter into force after the ratification instruments are exchanged. The agreement will apply for criminal tax matters from the date of its entry into force, and for other matters in respect of tax periods beginning on or after that date.
