According to a release published by Singapore's Prime Minister's Office following the recent Singapore-Australia Leaders' Summit, Singapore has expressed its interest in updating the 1969 income tax treaty between the two countries. Any resulting amendments would be the third to the treaty, which has been amended through protocols signed in 1989 and 2009. The purpose of an additional update is to further strengthen trade and investment flows.
