On 22 June 2021, the Saudi Shura Council approved the pending income tax treaty with Taiwan. The treaty, signed 2 December 2020, is the first of its kind between the two jurisdictions. It will enter into force after the ratification instruments are exchanged and will apply from 1 January of the year following its entry into force.
