Russia has published Federal Law No. 242-FZ of 14 July 2022, which provides for the ratification of the pending social security agreement with Tajikistan. The agreement, signed 15 September 2021, is the first of its kind directly between the two countries and will enter into force 30 days after the ratification instruments are exchanged. Once in force and effective, it will replace the 1992 Commonwealth of Independent States Pension Agreement as it applies in relations between Russia and Tajikistan.
