Qatar Provides Customs Duty Exemptions and Return Deadline Extensions in Response to COVID-19

Qatar

Qatar is reportedly providing and exemption from customs duties on the import of food stuffs, medical goods, and hygiene products for a period of six months in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The exemption is available for the following sectors: Hospitality and tourism; Retail; Small and medium sized enterprises; and Commercial complexes in exchange for providing services. Further, the deadline for both corporate and individual tax returns for the year ending 31 December 2019 is extended from 30 April 2020 to 30 June 2020.
