On 4 August 2021, the Qatar Cabinet reportedly approved the pending income tax treaty with the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The treaty, signed 29 March 2021, is the first of its kind between the two countries and will enter into force once the ratification instruments are exchanged and will apply from 1 January of the year following its entry into force.
