The Swiss Federal Council has submitted the request to the Swiss Federal Parliament for the ratification of the protocol to the Switzerland united Kingdom income tax treaty, signed on 26 June 2007. The major amendment by the protocol is the abolishment of withholding taxes on dividend payments on corporate dividends (at least 10% direct or indirect shareholding in the capital of another corporation) and dividend payments to pension funds.
