On 5 April 2021, officials from Libya and Malta met to discuss bilateral relations, including the negotiation of an amending protocol to the 2008 income tax treaty between the two countries. Any resulting protocol would be the first to amend the treaty and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
