Poland Remains Last Holdout on EU Directive for Global Minimum Tax

The EU Economic and Financial Affairs Council held a meeting on 5 April 2022 to discuss various issues, including the Draft Council Directive on ensuring a global minimum level of taxation for multinational groups in the Union. The Directive provides for the implementation of the 15% global minimum tax of Pillar 2 of the OECD's two-pillar solution for international tax reform. Pillar 1 of the solution concerns a revision of profit allocation and nexus rules.
