Poland's Ministry of Finance has announced that it has decided not to extend the VAT zero (0%) rate for basic food products. The zero rate was introduced with effect from 1 February 2022 as part of a package of Anti-Inflation Shield measures. Considering a downward trend in both inflation and the growth rate in food prices, the zero rate will end on 31 March 2024, after which a 5% rate will apply.
