On 16 June 2020, Poland's President signed into law a bill the introduces a specific anti-avoidance rule for the notional interest deduction. The rule, which will become effective 1 January 2021, provides that the notional interest deduction will be disallowed in cases where a taxpayer or a related party carry on economically unjustified activities with the main purpose of gaining the benefit of the deduction.
