Officials from Peru and the United Kingdom met on 13 October 2023 to discuss trade relations and agreed on the need to conclude negotiations for an income tax treaty. Negotiations for a tax treaty were first agreed to in 2019. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
