Panama has published Law 48 of 26 October 2016 in the Official Gazette. The Law replaces Law 58 of 2002 in order to strengthen available counter measures that may be taken against countries that have taken discriminatory or restrictive measures against Panama that harm its economic interests. Possible counter measures include increased withholding taxes, increased tariffs, labor restrictions, and others ({News-2016-08-05/P/3- previous coverage}).
