Panama's National Assembly has voted to override President Laurentino Cortizo's veto of a bill to repeal the tax credit incentive for investments in the tourism sector (previous coverage). As previously reported, the tax credit incentive was originally introduced by Law 80 of 2012 to promote investment in tourism, including investments outside the District of Panama in particular. The incentive was subsequently extended and amended by Law 122 of 2019 and Law 314 of 2022.
