During a 14 June 2018 meeting of the EU Council Working Party on Company Law, the Bulgarian presidency of the Council included discussion of EU Member State's positions on the proposal for public Country-by-Country (CbC) reporting. According to reports following the meeting, a number of Member States are still opposed to the current proposal for public CbC reporting, and in particular, the proposal's legal basis, which would require a qualified majority for approval instead of unanimous consent. The issue of public CbC reporting will be taken up again during the Austrian presidency of the Council, which begins 1 July 2018.
