UK HMRC has published an update for the new tax information exchange agreement with Bermuda, including that the agreement entered into force on 27 June 2017. The agreement, signed through the exchange of letters by the UK on 19 June 2017 and by Bermuda on 27 June, replaces the 2007 exchange agreement between the two jurisdictions. The new agreement applies for tax periods beginning on or after 4 December 2008, although the automatic exchange provisions apply from 1 January 2016.
