Netherlands Reduces Health Insurance Premium Rates for 2022

The Netherlands has published in the Official Gazette the regulation from the Minister of Health, Welfare, and Sport that sets the premium rates required under the Health Insurance Act (Zorgverzekeringswet) for 2022. This includes a 6.75% health insurance premium rate for employees and a 5.50% rate for pensioners, self-employed individuals, and entrepreneurs. As compared to 2021, the premium rates are reduced from 7.00% and 5.75%, respectively. The regulation also sets the maximum annual income basis at EUR 59,706 for 2022, which is up from EUR 58,311 for 2021.
