On 23 August 2024, the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) of Nepal issued updated "procedures" for the regulation of the Digital Services Tax (DST) and Value Added Tax (VAT) on digital (electronic) services provided by non-residents. Nepal introduced a 2% DST and expanded the scope of VAT (13%) to digital services in July 2022. The updated procedures set out revised regulations for the application of both taxes.
