Namibia's Minister of Finance introduced a draft bill in parliament on 19 February 2020 that would repeal tax incentives for manufacturers and export processing zones (EPZs). For manufacturers, this includes the repeal of the 10-year reduced tax rate of 18% and the additional 25% deductions for training costs, export costs, and transport costs for materials and components and imported equipment. For EPZs, this includes the repeal of the various tax exemptions for EPZ entities, including for customs and excise duties, stamp duties, transfer duties, and income tax, although exemptions from VAT and import VAT would not be affected.
