Myanmar's Internal Revenue Department has launched an e-filing system that is available for the submission of returns for specific goods tax, commercial tax, and capital gains tax. The e-filing system is currently in the pilot stage and is voluntary. The system will be made mandatory in the future and will also be extended to cover personal income tax returns and corporate income tax returns. To use the e-filing system, taxpayers must register via the IRD's e-filing website. If a taxpayer uses a third-party preparer for the submission of returns, they must be registered as well
