On 5 July 2018, Malaysia published the Income Tax (Accelerated Capital Allowance) Information and Communication Technology Equipment) Rules 2018 in the Official Gazette. The Rules provide that from the year of assessment 2017, an initial allowance is provided equal to one-fifth (20%) of the capital expenditure incurred for the purchase of eligible information and communication technology equipment, with an annual allowance provided for the same amount.
