On 29 August 2018, Malaysia published the Sales Tax (Rates of Tax) Order 2018 in the Official Gazette, which sets the rates of tax for goods under the new Sales and Services Tax regime that is effective from 1 September 2018. This includes a standard rate of 10%, a reduce rate of 5%, specific rates based on volume/weight for petroleum oils, fuels, natural gas, etc., and certain exemptions.
