On 3 May 2018, OECD Countries agreed to formally invite Lithuania to become a member of the Organisation. The signing of an Accession Agreement is planned to take place during a 30 to 31 May 2018 meeting of the OECD Council. Lithuania will become the 36th Member of the OECD once it has taken the appropriate steps at the national level to accede to the OECD Convention and deposits its instrument of accession with the French government, the depository of the OECD Convention.
