On 11 May 2021, Japan's House of Representatives (lower house of parliament) approved the pending income tax treaties with Georgia and Serbia. The tax treaty with Georgia, signed 29 January 2021, will enter into force 30 days after the ratification instruments are exchanged and will generally apply from 1 January of the year following its entry into force.
