According to recent reports, the Isle of Man has extended the application of its economic substance requirements to self-managed funds (schemes), which includes corporate fund vehicles that manage their own investments instead of appointing a separate fund manager. With the extension, self-managed funds are required to comply with all obligations of the economic substance requirements for accounting periods beginning on or after 16 December 2020.
