India's Central Board of Direct Taxes issued a press release on 18 March 2025 seeking stakeholder input for drafting Income-tax Rules and related forms consequent to the Income Tax Bill 2025. As previously reported, the Income Tax Bill 2025 was tabled in parliament on 13 February 2025 and is meant to replace the existing Income Tax Act 1961 to make the Act more concise, clear, and easy to understand, which would reduce disputes and provide greater tax certainty to taxpayers.
