Hungary's Deputy Finance Minister, András Tállai, has reportedly stated that the country will not agree to the introduction of a global minimum corporate tax rate. The position of Hungary, which has a 9% corporate tax rate, generally follows the position of other lower-tax countries such as Ireland in response to the U.S. proposal for a global minimum corporate tax rate of at least 15%. According to Tállai, Hungary will not relinquish its right to set taxes and cannot support a tax increase.
