On 21 October 2014, a draft bill including an internet usage tax was submitted to the Hungarian parliament. The tax would apply at a rate of HUF 150 per gigabyte of data traffic used per internet subscriber. The tax is to be incurred by the internet service provider (ISP) and not passed on to the subscribers .
