The Hungarian Parliament (National Assembly) approved legislation on 21 November 2023 for the introduction of various tax changes, including a defensive measure in relation to the EU list of non-cooperative jurisdictions for tax purposes. The defensive measure provides that interest and royalty payments to listed jurisdictions will be non-deductible for tax purposes, unless a payment is made based on real economic and commercial reasons, which must be proven by the taxpayer. Additional details will be published once available.
