Greece published Law No. 5086/2024 on 14 February 2024, which primarily contains measures regarding cyber security. However, the Law also includes certain other measures, including the repeal of the special levy introduced in 2022 on electricity producers using natural gas for electricity production. The levy was imposed at a rate of EUR 10 per megawatt-hour and went to the Energy Transition Fund. The special levy is repealed with effect from 14 February 2024, with specific provisions for the continued application of the levy until that date.
