Gibraltar Announces Extension of Import Duty Waiver for COVID-19 and Introduction of a New Duty on Personal Imports to Promote Local Purchases

The Government of Gibraltar has issued a release on the extension of the import duty waivers introduced in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes that the import duty waiver will now continue for the entirety of the 3rd quarter (July to September 2020) for all commercial imports, with the exception of fuel, building materials, alcohol, tobacco, and disposable single-use plastic products, which are subject to a higher duty regime.
