According to a release from Moldova's Ministry of Finance, officials from Germany and Moldova began the first round of negotiations for an income tax treaty on 19 February 2024. Any resulting treaty must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force and, once in force and effective, will replace the 1981 tax treaty between Germany and the former Soviet Union as it applies in respect of Germany and Moldova.
