On 6 July 2016, the Finance Committee of Germany's Bundestag (lower house of parliament) approved the pending income and capital tax treaty with Australia ({News-2015-11-17/T/3- previous coverage}). The treaty, signed 12 November 2015, will enter into force once the ratification instruments are exchanged.
