Officials from Georgia and Hong Kong reportedly concluded negotiations with the initialing of an income tax treaty on 29 December 2019, which includes withholding tax rates of 5% on passive income. The treaty is the first of its kind between the two jurisdictions and must be signed and ratified before entering into force. Further details of the treaty will be published once available.
