The Georgian government has issued Order No. 219, which expands the scope of the International Company Regime to include information technology (IT) and shipping sectors with effect from 12 October 2020. With the expanded scope, companies in the sectors may qualify for the incentives of the regime, including a reduced 5% corporate income tax rate, a reduced 5% individual income tax rate for employees, a tax exemption on dividends, and a partial exemption from property tax. In order to be granted the incentives, an application for International Company status must be submitted to the government for approval.
