France Delays Reduction in VAT Exemption Threshold to June 2025

The French Ministry of Economy and Finance has announced that following a consultation, it has been decided to introduce a single VAT exemption threshold of EUR 25,000 in turnover for all businesses from 1 June 2025. This is the previous calendar year exemption threshold. The current year exemption threshold is EUR 27,500. Separate thresholds for goods, services, and certain activities will no longer apply. The changes were introduced as part of the Finance Law for 2025 and were originally to apply from 1 March 2025, but were suspended pending consultations with stakeholders.
