Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa issued Executive Decree No. 470 on 4 December 2024, which extends the increased VAT rate of 15% to 2025. As part of the Organic Law to Confront the Internal Armed Conflict and the Social and Economic Crisis, the VAT rate was increased from 12% to 13%, with an option for a further increase up to 15%. For this purpose, Executive Decree No. 198 was published in the Official Gazette on 18 March 2024, increasing the rate to 15% with effect from 1 April 2024, which is now extended to 2025.
