The European Commission is reportedly planning to propose a new requirement regarding beneficial ownership disclosure and the EU list of non-cooperative jurisdictions. The new requirement would require non-EU countries to establish beneficial ownership registries and automatically provide information on EU persons that are beneficial owners of companies not subject to corporate tax. Where a non-EU country does not meet the requirement, this would be considered in listing the country as a non-cooperative jurisdiction.
