The EU Parliament Joint Committees on economic affairs (ECON) and home affairs and civil liberties (LIBE) on 27 March adopted far-reaching amendments to the anti-money laundering package (AML) proposed by the European Commission in July 2021. Salient features of the amendments adopted include the following: ---------- The definition of beneficial ownership would be revised to mean controlling a direct or indirect interest of 15% plus one share or the same threshold in voting rights.
