EU Leaders agreed on 28 October 2019 to an extension for the UK to leave the European Union. According to European President Donald Tusk, the EU27 has agreed that it will accept the UK's request for a "Brexit flextension" until 31 January 2020 and that the decision is expected to be formalized through a written procedure. The terms of the flextension are basically that the UK could leave the EU earlier than 31 January 2020 if a deal is approved.
