The Danish Ministry of Taxation has announced that the "historic" cooperation agreement with Airbnb concerning the reporting of rental income will come into force on 1 July 2019 ({News-2018-05-22/A/2-previous coverage}). The agreement comes into force as a result of the final adoption in parliament of a political agreement between the government and certain political parties, which included a prerequisite that sharing-economy platforms have entered into an agreement with the tax authorities for the reporting of income. Airbnb will share income information with the tax authorities from 1 July 2019, with reporting to take place automatically from 2021.
