According to the release, Shah's involvement in the schemes resulted in wrongfully paid refunds amounting to over DKK 9 billion in the period 2012 to 2015. In addition to the prison sentence, the court ordered the confiscation of assets totaling approximately DKK 7.2 billion. Shah has appealed the verdict.
