Czech Finance Minister Zbyněk Stanjura has reportedly stated that the government will make a decision on whether to move forward with a windfall tax by 10 September 2022. The government has been considering a temporary windfall tax on unexpected profits of large energy companies in order to help offset the impact of high energy costs. If the government decides to move forward with the windfall tax, the legislation for the tax must still be approved in parliament.
