The Curacao and Sint Maarten monetary union implemented the Caribbean guilder (XCG) as the official currency on 31 March 2025, replacing the Netherlands Antillean guilder (ANG). The XCG has the same value as the former ANG (1:1) and is pegged to the US dollar at a rate of USD 1 = XCG 1.79. Both the XCG and ANG continue to be legal tender for a period of three months, until 30 June 2025. Only the XCG will be accepted for cash payments from 1 July 2025.
