Officials from Curacao reportedly held meetings with officials from Barbados, Mauritius, and Norway on 12 October 2023 to discuss bilateral relations, including Curacao's interest in negotiations for income tax treaties with the respective countries. Any resulting treaties would be the first of their kind with Barbados and Mauritius. Any resulting treaty with Norway would be the second between the two countries. Norway terminated the 1991 tax treaty between the two countries in June 2023, which takes effect from 1 January 2024.
