Curacao Introduces Exemptions for the Employment of Young Unemployed Persons

On 1 September 2014, a Curacao's National Ordinance for the promotion of the employment of young unemployed persons entered into force. Under the Ordinance, employers that employ qualifying young unemployed persons within 3 years after 1 September 2014 do not have to withhold wage tax and are exempt from paying employer social security contributions. The benefit of the exemption is not included in the taxable profit for the calculation of income or profit tax.
